Can you believe it's almost February? It feels like it was just Christmas and we were celebrating New Years. Here we are already well into 2018! Now that the holiday season is over this is the perfect opportunity to accelerate towards your 2018 health goals by joining me in this year's febfast.
I am proud to be this year's febfast nutrition and health ambassador and would love for you to be a part of this wonderful cause as we together make a positive change to your health and someone's life.
What is febfast?
Powered by Youth Support + Advocacy Service (YSAS), febfast is the great Australian pause from alcohol, sugar or something of your choice for the month of February in support of disadvantaged young people aged 12-25 across the country.
You’ll give up alcohol, sugar, meat, inactivity or something of your choice, register to take on the challenge and raise vital funds to support disadvantaged young Australians. The money you raise funds youth workers who dedicate their time to connect young people in with the support, programs and services they require to overcome adversity and realise opportunity.
As a nutritionist I find febfast is a great opportunity to make positive health and lifestyle choices to create foundations for a healthier you for the rest of your year (and beyond). You can use the month's experience to accelerate towards your health goals with the support of my febfast member exclusive 4 Week Health and Wellbeing Program and with the support of the febfast community who are making positive health changes just like you are.
Febfast is a great way to take steps towards improving your health whilst giving back to our community. I encourage members to take note of their level of wellbeing at the beginning of February (such as sleep, energy levels, sugar cravings, moods etc) and again at the end of the 30 days to increase awareness of the choices we make and how they can affect our health and how we feel each day.This year as the febfast nutrition ambassador I've created a 4 Week Program (free for febfast members) to help and support you to get the most out of your febfast experience with guides, recipes and tips on living a healthier life.
Which do you choose?
This year you can choose what you hit pause on during febfast. Whether its sugar, alcohol, meat, inactivity or your choice (maybe chocolate or social media for example) pick something that you feel will help you to head towards your health and wellbeing goals. For me I will continue with my pause on sugar and alcohol + this year I am choosing inactivity (I will be following my 8 Week Program's holistic exercise approach of 30 mins of movement daily that I enjoy as well as no social media at night (a break from scrolling = better sleep!)
